Kyle Bester University of South Africa

Kyle John Bester is a registered research psychologist and senior psychology lecturer at the University of South Africa (Unisa). He obtained a B.Psych degree in counselling psychology from Pearson Institute of Higher Education (formerly known as Midrand Graduate Institute) in 2015. In 2017, he obtained a Master's degree in Research Psychology from the University of the Western Cape. He joined the University of South Africa as a psychology lecturer in 2019, where he specializes in cybersecurity awareness in the context of the South African armed forces. Recently, he completed his PhD in Military Science at Stellenbosch University in 2023, where he focused on exploring the perceptions of cybersecurity among South African military officers. He has presented and published book chapters both locally and internationally, with research interests that include military science, data-colonialism, cybersecurity awareness, securitization of cyberspace, and cyber psychology.
