Magdalena Lohninger University of Vienna

Magdalena Lohninger is a theoretical linguist, specializing on formal syntax. She holds a PhD from the University of Vienna. Her main interests are phrasal movement and the A’/A distinction, composite [A’/A] probes, Hyperraising, information-structurally triggered A-movement, the definiton of “subjecthood”, clausal complementation and, since recently, Austronesian languages and their pivot-system. Usually, she works with a set of unrelated languages that exhibit similar grammatical phenomena and, if she had to, would describe herself as generative typologist.
