Iva Kovač University of Vienna

Iva Kovač is a graduate student at the University of Vienna and a research assistant at the FWF project “Implicational hierarchies in clausal complementation” (PI Susi Wurmbrand). Her main interest lies in syntax, with a focus on verbs and (complement) clauses. She has worked, either collaboratively or alone, on finiteness in South Slavic languages, long-distance agreement in Basque, configurations involving passives and restructuring in Austronesian languages, Croatian, Dutch, and German, on A-dependencies across finite clause boundaries, and on implicit control. Apart from being a linguist, Iva is also a freelance flutist, specialising in contemporary classical music.
