Ling R: Introduction to Experimental Syntax

This is an introductory course in experimental syntax, designed to equip students with the skills to think about syntax using experimental methods. The primary focus will be on acceptability judgment studies, which are fundamental data types in linguistic theorizing. Students will learn how to approach syntax experimentally, operationalize scientific questions, and design experiments. We are going to use Excel and a bit of R for data visualization. Students who do not have Excel can download OpenOffice for free as an alternative.
